1. Information Rights

In accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/1999, on the Protection of Personal Data (LOPD), and LSSICE 34/2002, of 11 July, on Information Society and e-Commerce Services, Biocat la Fundació BioRegió de Catalunya, hereinafter Biocat, in compliance specifically with the stipulations in articles 5 and 6 of the LOPD, hereby notifies users that provide or are going to provide their personal details that said information will be added to a database that has been duly registered with the Spanish Data Protection Agency.


2. Purposes

In accordance with the aforementioned regulations, Biocat hereby notifies users that any personal details submitted through the forms on this website are collected in order to offer services derived from its activity, manage requests, and carry out statistical studies as well as for sending out communications and information on activities or programs that may be of interest to the user by any electronic means.


3. User Consent

By filling out and submitting the forms on this website, the user expressly accepts and authorizes their personal details to be handled automatically by Biocat.

Biocat hereby notifies and expressly ensures users that the personal data provided will under no circumstances be transferred to third parties and that if any such transfer of personal details were to occur, express, informed, unequivocal consent would be obtained beforehand from the users to which the details pertain.

The user declares that all information provided is true and correct, and undertakes to notify Biocat of any changes that may occur to said data.

Some of the information requested by Biocat is obligatory, as these details are necessary to provide optimal service to the user. If the user does not provide all of these details, Biocat cannot ensure that the information and services provided will fully meet their needs. Biocat notifies users when details are obligatory and/or necessary for the proper functioning of the service.

Additionally, if users submit personal details regarding a third-party through the forms on this website, they must first obtain said party's consent and inform them of the contents of the paragraphs above. 

By accepting this legal disclaimer, the user consents to any international transfer of data that may occur.

Biocat reserves the right to take photographs and video recordings of the events and activities it organizes. By accepting this legal disclaimer in registering for these events, participants are expressly providing prior authorization and consent to Biocat to use any images of the user participating in an event organized by Biocat to broadcast in a live feed, record on video or disseminate openly, in accordance with the right to one's own image, as established in Article 18 of the Spanish Constitution, and the right to honor, personal and family privacy and one's own image, as established in Organic Law 1/1982, of 5 May.

Nevertheless, the user may decline to be recorded and photographed at any time by notifying Biocat in the manner established in the legal disclaimer below.


4. Security

Biocat undertakes and ensures that personal details provided shall be handled in accordance with the aforementioned regulations and any others valid at the present time, as well as with the utmost confidentiality, both by Biocat and any employees of the company that have or may gain access to said information.

Biocat likewise ensures that it employs generally accepted measures of security to protect the information provided by users, in transmitting, receiving and storing said data.


5. User's Rights

Users may exercise their rights to access, correct or delete information or to oppose to the handling of their personal details in accordance with the terms and conditions established in the LOPD, by sending an email to or letter to Baldiri Reixac, 4-8, Torre I (PCB) - 08028 Barcelona.

Likewise, users may decline to receive communications at any time or unsubscribe to any of the services by notifying Biocat in the manner established in the previous paragraph.


6. Intellectual Property

The design of this website and its source code, as well as any logos, brands and other distinctive signs that appear herein, are the property of Biocat and therefore protected by any and all corresponding intellectual and industrial property rights.

The contents of the pages that make up this website may be downloaded, copied or printed solely for private, personal use. The information, contents and advertisements on this website may not be copied, transferred, modified or deleted without prior written consent from Biocat.


7. Content liability

Biocat shall not be held liable for the lawfulness of third-party sites users may access via this website. Nor shall Biocat be held liable for the lawfulness of third-party sites that may link to or from this website.

Biocat reserves the right to modify, suspend, cancel or restrict the contents of this website and the links or information herein, with no prior warning. Biocat shall under no circumstances be held liable for any issues that may arise from improper use of this website or the information and services it contains.

Biocat shall not be held responsible for third-party websites to which users may gain access through links on this site or any contents provided by third parties.


8. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

Any conflicts or disputes that may arise in the interpretation of the terms and conditions of this legal disclaimer, or any issues associated with the services provided by this website, shall fall under the jurisdiction of Spanish Law.
